robinRobin McKay, the Promotions and Communications Specialist here at the school, finds that she is surprisingly comfortable writing in the third person and may only write this way from now on. After receiving a BA in Animation from DePaul University, she quickly continued her studies at the School of the Art Institute where she received an MFA in the Film, Video, New Media, and Animation program. Using live action, puppetry and animation, her narrative films tend to investigate human interaction and are often referred to as “delightfully bizarre”. Her most recent film took a tour on the film festival circuit, including Chicago International Film Fest, St. Louis International Film Fest, and Glasgow International Film Fest, where she is rumored to have received special mention and consumed far too much haggis.

Robin is thrilled to have been welcomed into the International School of Comics faculty where she is constantly overwhelmed by the caliber of talent she finds herself amidst. She is excited to work at a place that serves as a hub for artists of all different backgrounds and experience levels to congregate, collaborate, and learn from each other. Each day she sees International School of Comics students make leaps and bounds in their own work and it motivates her to work even harder.
