CLASSES START TBD! - Keep your eye peeled for our next start date!
The International School of Comics is happy to announce its new 2015 Winter Art Program for children ages 6 to 16. These children’s workshops will be held at the International School of Comics every Saturday of the month from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. These young artists will explore drawing techniques in all different mediums and styles in a fun and creative environment. The workshops will provide kids with the opportunity to learn more about the comic book industry, animation fundamentals, and the art world as a whole.
The Kids Program includes 11 two hour lessons. The cost for the entire series of lessons depends on the number of participants in the class (see below for price options). There are no enrollment fees and the first lesson is free! Parents will need to fill out the Registration Form to provide their personal contact information and sign the agreement form regarding the Rules and Conduct of the Kids Program.
We do recommend that parents/guardians register their children for the entire series of lessons, so that the young artists can gradually learn the main concepts and progress throughout the whole course by having what they’ve learned in each lesson build upon one another.
Our programs provide the training and framework to stimulate children’s creativity and develop their artistic abilities. Students artistic individuality will flourish in this environment designed to guide students through Comic Art using drawing, cartooning, storytelling, character design, and much more.
Our talented instructors, who are working comic artists themselves, will demonstrate and teach students numerous formal techniques including proportion, perspective, composition, 3D drawing, and the principles of character design.
